Open Concept Living Room Addition

The homeowners wanted to connect their dated living room to a cramped den and create one large open living space for their growing family. The project required removing a load-bearing wall and installing a flush beam to carry the load above. We reconfigured the HVAC to serve the expanded space, extended the hardwood floors from the existing living room into the addition, and rebuilt the staircase to improve flow between floors. New windows on the rear wall brought in natural light the space had never had before. The finished room feels like it was always designed to be open.
