Rear Deck and Covered Porch

The existing rear patio was a cracked concrete slab with no shade or privacy. The homeowners wanted a proper outdoor living space they could use from spring through fall. We demolished the slab and built a two-level composite deck with a covered porch section off the back door. The covered area features a tongue-and-groove cedar ceiling, recessed lighting, and a ceiling fan. The lower deck level steps down to a built-in bench that wraps the corner. Cable railing keeps the sightlines open to the yard. The whole structure is composite and cedar with a twenty-five year warranty on the decking material.
